Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Programs

These programs were created by the IRCC for persons who have at least two years of caregiver work experience in Canada and who want to immigrate to Canada as carers. You will be able to apply for permanent residence in Canada if you have at least two years of caregiving experience in Canada and fulfill the other conditions. For those who have never worked as a caregiver, IRCC will grant them an occupation-restricted open work visa in Canada. The accompanying spouse and the dependent’s children will also be granted open work or study visas by the IRCC. Their permanent residence application will then be on hold until they have worked as a caregiver in Canada for 24 months over the course of 36 months.
