Temporary Residence Permit (TRP)

Temporary Residence Permit (TRP)

Individuals who are inadmissible to Canada for any reason – including criminal and medical reasons – can apply for a temporary resident visa, enter and stay in the country. A TRP is granted if the applicant has a compelling cause to enter Canada and that reason eclipses the risk to Canadian society.

Assume you are a TRP holder who’s been denied entry due to a medical condition. If you fulfill the other conditions, you may be eligible to apply for permanent residency after three years of continuous residence in Canada.
